Two Bishops Against a Knight
White to play and win

Two Bishops Against a Knight
Win against perfect defense
Waking the engine…
The theory
An extra minor piece is usually enough to win when the pieces coordinate. Two bishops against a lone knight is a clean example: the bishops cover long diagonals the slow knight cannot contest.
The plan. Use the bishop pair to dominate or win the knight. A knight cut off from its king is easy to trap, and once it falls you are left with the standard two-bishop mate.
The two-bishop mate. Bishops on neighboring diagonals form an advancing wall while your king shoulders the defender toward any corner. Unlike bishop and knight, either corner will do.
In this drill the defender uses the knight to harass and delay for as long as possible. Stay coordinated, avoid loose captures, and the extra piece tells in the end.
