The theory
Queen versus rook and pawn is a balance of setups. When the pawn sits on the sixth and the rook screens from the fifth, the defense is a true fortress.
The geometry. Pawn and rook cover the squares the queen needs to invade, and the king hides behind them. No fork, no penetration, no progress.
Reading it. The attacker's job is to recognize the wall and stop before overpressing into stalemate. A drawn fortress punishes greed, not caution.
In this drill you steer the stronger side to a safe half-point. Respect the structure and keep the queen from stumbling into a trap.
