Same-Colored Bishops: Forcing the Pawn Home
Win against perfect defense
Waking the engine…
The theory
Bishop and pawn versus bishop on the same color is a battle over one square: the blockading square in front of the pawn.
The defender's only hope. He plants his bishop where it controls the square ahead of the pawn, stopping it in its tracks.
Breaking through. The stronger side uses king and bishop to attack that square or deflect the enemy bishop, then pushes the pawn beyond its reach.
In this drill you must dismantle a perfect blockade. Coordinate your pieces to force the pawn home.
