Blockade the Pawn and Hold
Hold the draw against perfect play
Waking the engine…
The theory
In same-colored bishop endings a single tempo can decide between a win and a draw.
The drawing setup. The defender blockades the pawn on a square his bishop controls, backing it up with the king.
Why the move matters. Reaching the fortress first denies the attacker the chance to break in, and the extra pawn becomes harmless.
In this drill you defend with the move in hand. Build the blockade and hold your ground.
