Passed Pawns That Deflect the King

Win against perfect defense

Waking the engine…

The theory

When both sides have passed pawns, the winner is often the side whose pawns pull the enemy king furthest from the action.

Deflection. Advanced passers force the defending king to guard them, leaving it unable to meet threats on the far wing.

Split the duties. Use your king to stop what it can and your pawns to distract the rest. The rule of the square tells you which pawns are catchable.

In this drill the defense is flawless. Exploit the fact that one king cannot cover both wings.
