Three Connected Pawns: Menace Versus Method

Win against perfect defense

Waking the engine…

The theory

Three connected passed pawns are dangerous, but their strength depends on how far advanced they are and where the enemy king sits.

The blockade. A king planted in front of connected pawns that are not yet far advanced can hold all three, since they cannot force a breakthrough alone.

Win elsewhere. With your king containing the trio, your own passed pawns decide the game because the enemy king cannot stop them all.

In this drill the defender pushes perfectly. Blockade the three, promote your own, and win.
