Rook Pawns and a Decoy on the Wing
Win against perfect defense
Waking the engine…
The theory
A pair of blocked rook pawns is usually a draw, but add a passed pawn on the opposite wing and the extra unit becomes a decisive lever.
The decoy. The wing pawn drags the defending king across the board. A king cannot guard both flanks, so committing to one leaves the other exposed.
The tempo. Even when the wing pawn is eventually stopped, the moves the defender spent on it hand you the tempo you need to crack open the rook-pawn side or to break the blockade.
In this drill the win is real but not automatic. Time the wing advance so the enemy king is pulled offside at the decisive moment.
